On March 7, Xiaomi is set to release the Xiaomi 14 smartphone in India. Both the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform and come with features like the Leica Summilux lens and HyperOS custom skin pre-installed.

Although many of the prominent flagship phones for 2024 have already been released, the Xiaomi 14 series has recently premiered at MWC 2024. However, there is a mix of both positive and negative updates. The series comprises three models, but only the standard version is slated for release in India; the Ultra and Pro variants will not be available here.

A high-quality, compact construction:

The Xiaomi 14 exudes a premium aesthetic and tactile experience. Boasting a flat Gorilla Glass Victus front, a subtly curved Gorilla Glass back featuring a sizable square camera unit adorned with Leica branding, and a metal frame with straight sides that gently curve. Standing at 152.8 mm in height, it qualifies as compact for an Android flagship, notably smaller than the OnePlus 12 (164.3 mm), though not as petite as the iPhone 15 (147.6 mm). Weighing in at 193 grams, it carries a bit of heft, but this contributes to its robust feel and sophisticated appearance. With an IP68 rating, it is resilient enough to withstand accidental immersion in water.

Xiaomi 14 Price:

The Xiaomi 14 is set to make its debut in India on March 7. However, the pricing remains somewhat enigmatic. According to our sources, the phone will be available in a single variant with a significantly high amount of RAM and storage, likely carrying a price tag of “around Rs 75,000.” Nevertheless, some sources suggest a slightly lower price, closer to Rs 65,000, positioning it as a competitor to the OnePlus 12. This would make it more budget-friendly compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, launched last year at Rs 79,999. Despite this, the pricing remains premium, surpassing twice the cost of Xiaomi’s popular Redmi Note 13 Pro+.

Cameras :

The standout feature of the Xiaomi 14 lies in its Leica camera arrangement. Collaborating with the renowned Leica, the phone incorporates three 50-megapixel cameras on its rear. The primary sensor boasts a Light Fusion 900 image sensor, featuring a spacious f/1.6 aperture and OIS, although it doesn’t have a one-inch sensor like the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Additionally, there is a telephoto sensor with 3.2x optical zoom and OIS, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor. While a 32-megapixel front sensor caters to selfies, the true photographic prowess resides in the rear camera setup.

Features the HyperOS and Rapid Charging Technology:

The Xiaomi 14 operates on Android 14, marking the first instance of a Xiaomi-branded phone in India to feature the highly-discussed HyperOS pre-installed. HyperOS boasts a streamlined interface, demands fewer resources, and is touted to provide a smoother experience compared to MIUI, Xiaomi’s previous user interface. When coupled with its powerful processor and ample RAM, the Xiaomi 14 promises impressive speed. Additionally, it is equipped with a 4,610mAh battery, supporting rapid charging at 90W with a wired charger and 50W wirelessly. The included 120W charger asserts the capability to fully recharge the phone in just 31 minutes.
